Picnic at Whins Brow
Brian and Carol hosted a picnic in their garden on Saturday 27 July. The weather in the morning was not encouraging, with heavy rain in the area until midday. However, Carol’s faith in the forecast was justified and it turned out to be a warm sunny afternoon with some of us seeking the shade.
The afternoon was a great success, with 22 attending. A plant sale raised over £100 for the Lune Valley charities and many took advantage of tours of the garden. Ice creams were provided to help with the event and in recognition of the work Brian and Carol have done for Chain Reaction and Lune Valley. The weather, garden and conversation were all enjoyed and some visitors stayed until after 5.30.
